When being asked about your weaknesses, it might be tempting to share something to please the ears of your interviewer, such as “I’m too much of a perfectionist” or “I simply work too hard”. But those things might make you sound egotistical and might not even be true in all cases.

In order to sound realistic in your interview, write down a list of your weaknesses and things that you’d like to improve about yourself during your preparation. As you choose something to share, keep in mind the following things:
Choose a weakness that won’t negatively impact your future job. If you’re looking for a job as a salesperson, it’s not a good choice to say that you’re not a “people” person.
Make sure that you show your interviewer that you are making an effort to change your behavior and develop your skills.
Here’s a good example of how to share your weakness:
“I have always been a very shy person, so whenever I have to give a presentation or speak in public, I get very nervous. In order to change that, in the past months, I decided to take every opportunity to practice speaking in public, so I can get used to it and become more confident.”
It can be simple as this! Now you know a little more about how to prepare for your next interview.
Good luck!
