What Are Your Greatest Strengths?

When employers ask you to share your strengths during a job interview, they want to understand the kind of employee that you would be and if you would be a good fit in their company.

Here are a few ideas for preparing:


  • Make a list of your strengths and highlight the ones that would help you in the applied job.

  • Think of situations when you used those strengths to get your job done.

  • Think of how you can use the specific skill to correlate to the position you’re applying to.


Here’s an example:


“I consider one of my greatest strengths to be a good listener. Whenever someone explains something new to me, I am able to capture even the smallest details. It really makes it easier when I’m adapting to a new job environment.”

As you prepare for this question, remember to balance confidence and humility. You want to sound assertive and positive, but not arrogant. If you remember these points, you’ll manage to have a great interview.
