Many job interviewers will start by asking you to tell them about yourself. If you want to stand out and be different from other applicants, you must start right from the very first moment. When asked to explain who you are, summarize a few key points about your experience.

Start by highlight your strengths. Provide background to who you are as a professional, showing them why you’re worthy of being hired. In order to do that, you can bring a situation from preview experiences, explain your responsibility in a certain job, a problem that you faced, the measures that you took, and the results that you achieved. Telling the interviewer an example is the best way to provide them a view of what you are capable of.
Remember to be clear and honest in your answers. It’s helpful to write down a few examples before the interview so you can be prepared for any questions that might come up.
Here’s an example:
“Well, I’m currently an account manager at Oracle, where I handle some of our top-performing clients. Before that, I worked at a car dealership where I was on three different major world car brands. And while I really enjoyed the work that I did, I’d love the chance to dig in much deeper with one specific car manufacturer, which is why I’m so excited about this opportunity with BMW”
As you adapt the example to your own situation, you will be able to concisely explain the role that you can perform in the desired company. Being prepared is the best way to overcome anxiety and show confidence.
Good luck!
